MOVIE FROM MARITIMO 11

Click on the photo on the right to see a short movie from the cockpit of our boat. It is mostly from our last race on the Gold Coast, but also some from Melbourne earlier this year.

RETIREMENT TODAY

We stopped today on the very first lap. I had an alarm on one engine with low oil pressure. I tried to restart the system many times but it came back. We just had to stop and retire from the race. We had a good start and was in the lead by 20 m when this thing happened. When we got back in the drypit the team found out that it was a false alarm and was caused by a broken sensor. Very bad but we did not want to destroy the engine anyway.

It was extremely bad conditions on the course with 6 foot waves along with a 6 foot chop.

WE WON IN REDCLIFFE

It became one of our best and hardest races so far in Australia. From a bad start we manage to gain space into the lead before second turn. After that we pulled away from the field. A good feeling to do that in thoose conditions. It became really bad an tricky during the race. This was a race for the pilots and their skills. Now we are offcourse very happy and looking forward to the next one in Gold Coast, end of october.

It was a perfect race for us to get more expirence in big waves and vind. Many boats crashed in this long lasting race. It felt like forever . Thanks to all crewmembers for a fantastic job!
